Natalie Evans

Communication Design Diploma
2020

I started painting and drawing as a child, and it didn’t stop there. This creative outlook continued through all my life, and into my career as a graphic designer, and front-end developer. Growing up in a small community on Vancouver Island, I was always surrounded by water and nature, and it’s definitely an influence in my work. What intrigues me the most about design is the challenge to solve problems, push my creativity and pursue projects that push me to think differently.

Natalie Evans's project

On The Water

Front-End Development, Full Stack Development, and UX/UI design for a website that promotes and educates safe boating on the water. I got the idea for this project when I took my SVOP and struggled to learn the dryer content. As I spent more time in the boating community, I realized that I wasn’t the only one, who had a hard time retaining the knowledge needed to be safe on the water. This project is an online tool that breaks down all the complicated rules, regulations and systems, and creates a realistic and interactive way for people to learn.
