Marlee Pestell

Communication Design Diploma
2020

Hello, my name is Marlee. I have a passion for visual storytelling and have always been a creative person who has over the years immersed myself in a wide range of artistic and design endeavours. With a visual arts degree from Emily Carr my quest for answers in the digital design world led me to taking the Communication Design program at North Island College. It was there that I found my calling and learned to solve creative challenges in new ways by incorporating the Adobe Suite, Sketch, Invision, WordPress, HTML and CSS into my toolkit. I draw my inspiration from the connections I make, be it in nature or the people in my life. I am grateful to live on Vancouver Island where I can adventure out my back door and into the forest with my trusty, furry companion by my side.

Marlee Pestell's project

Jungle Vodka

Unique captivating and contemporary branding for Jungle Vodka including packaging, logos, a brand guidelines book, collateral and eCommerce website design.

Jungle Vodka is a fictional company I created for my final project. I wished to grow my skills in branding and packaging design and WordPress development with e-commerce. Using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Adobe Draw I developed a colour scheme, pattern, logo with variations, labels, shop merchandise, brand guidelines book and curated social media platforms. I chose to build a website for Jungle Vodka on WordPress using the Elementor Theme Builder and created a shop page using WooCommerce.
